Solar Pool and Water Heating Services in Cape Coral and Southwest Florida

Cape Coral Solar Water Heater Pros installs, repairs and maintains solar pool heaters and solar water heaters for homes, condos and HOA pools across Lee and Charlotte counties. This page sets out all nine of our services side by side, so you can go straight to the one that fits your pool, your tank or your roof.

We have worked on Southwest Florida roofs since 2010, the winter a January cold snap left local pools unswimmable for weeks. We stick to solar thermal, heating water and pools with the sun, and we do not sell solar electric panels or batteries.

That focus is why we take on every brand, including FAFCO and SunSaver arrays that lost factory support when FAFCO closed in late 2024. Each job starts with a written quote and ends with a written warranty.

Pool heating

Solar Pool Heating Services

Solar pool heating pumps your pool water through black polypropylene collectors on the roof, adding 8 to 15 degrees F over an unheated pool on sunny days. We install new systems, repair existing ones of any brand, and design larger arrays for shared pools.

New Solar Pool Heater Installation

We size the array to your pool's surface area, not its gallons, using Heliocol or Techno-Solis panels on a south or west roof face. Most homes take 6 to 14 panels at $4,200 to $9,200 installed, done in 1 day on shingle or metal and 1 to 2 days on tile.

  • Pentair SolarTouch or Hayward GL-235 automatic control as an option
  • 316 stainless straps and fasteners on salt-air canal lots
  • 5 years on our workmanship, 10 years on roof penetrations

Solar Pool Heater Repair

Leaking panels, stuck diverter valves, failed sensors and controllers that never switch on are the repairs we see most. A $149 diagnostic visit finds the fault and is credited to the repair if you approve it during the visit.

  • Leak repairs from $185 to $350 per leak
  • FAFCO, Aquatherm, SunStar, rubber mat and other brands
  • 1 year parts and labor on the parts we replace

Commercial and Condo Pool Heating

Condo towers, HOA amenity centers and hotel pools need far more collector area and flow than a backyard pool. We quote each site individually, and most condo and HOA systems start around $15,000.

  • Arrays sized for heavy daily use and long pump hours
  • Written proposals boards and managers can compare
  • Flat and low-slope commercial roof layouts

Household hot water

Solar Water Heater Services

A solar water heater warms your household water in glazed flat plate collectors and stores it in an 80 or 120 gallon solar tank with an electric backup element. In Southwest Florida it typically covers 60 to 80% of a home's water heating, which is often 14 to 18% of the electric bill.

Installing a New Solar Water Heater

We fit SunEarth flat plate collectors with Rheem Solaraide or SunEarth tanks as active closed loop or active direct systems, usually in 1 day. An 80 gallon system for 2 to 4 people runs $6,800 to $8,900, and a 120 gallon system for 4 to 6 people runs $8,900 to $11,500.

Solar Water Heater Repair

Lukewarm showers and a climbing electric bill usually trace back to a dead circulating pump, a failed sensor or controller, or worn-out glycol. We repair every system type, including drainback and batch heaters we rarely install.

Solar Storage Tank Replacement

A solar tank leaking at the base can be swapped while the roof collectors stay where they are. The job takes 3 to 5 hours and costs $2,400 to $3,400 for 80 gallons or $3,000 to $4,200 for 120 gallons.

Roof and care

Roof, Maintenance and Storm Services

Solar collectors often outlast the roof under them, and every hurricane season tests both. These two services keep a working system on your roof through a re-roof, a storm and the slow wear of sun and salt.

Removal and Reinstall for Re-Roofing

We take panels down in half a day to a day, store them on site or at our yard, and reinstall them in 1 day once the new roof passes inspection. Pool systems run $1,400 to $3,200 with new stainless hardware included, and solar water heaters run $950 to $1,900.

  • Timed around your roofer's start date
  • 5 years on our reinstall work and the penetrations we seal
  • A common job since Hurricane Ian set off Cape Coral's re-roof wave

Maintenance Plans and Storm Inspections

An annual check catches loose straps, weak valves and tired glycol before they turn into leaks or cold water. A pool inspection is $169, water heater service is $199, both together are $299, and a post-storm inspection with a dated photo report is $149.

  • October and November pre-season checks for returning snowbirds
  • Photo reports you can hand to an insurance adjuster
  • Freeze-protection and setpoint check on your controller

Heat pumps

Pool Heat Pumps and Hybrid Systems

A pool heat pump pulls heat from the outdoor air using electricity, so it keeps working at night and through cloudy cold fronts when solar cannot. Many Cape Coral owners pair one with solar panels and let the sun carry most of the load.

Pool Heat Pump Installation and Repair

We install and repair Hayward HeatPro, Pentair UltraTemp and AquaCal units from 100,000 to 140,000 BTU, at $4,800 to $7,500 installed. A new electrical circuit adds $500 to $1,200 when your panel needs one.

Solar First, Heat Pump as Backup

In a hybrid setup the solar side runs first and the heat pump only fills the gap on gray days. That matters, because a heat pump working alone can add $100 to $300 a month to a Cape Coral winter electric bill.

When a Heat Pump Should Lead

If your roof has no usable south or west face, or a tall oak shades it most of the day, a heat pump on a concrete pad may be the better primary heater. Our solar vs heat pump pool heater comparison runs the numbers.

How Long Each One Lasts

Pool heat pumps last about 7 to 10 years in salt air, while quality polypropylene panels run 15 to 20 years or more. Many owners keep the same solar array through two heat pumps.

Not Sure Which Service You Need?

Start with what you are seeing at home, and the table points you to the right service and its usual price. If two rows seem to fit, a $149 diagnostic visit usually settles it, and that fee is credited to the repair.

Our standard

What Comes With Every Job

Every service on this page runs on the same four commitments, whether the job is a $95 vacuum relief valve or a full rooftop array.

A Written Quote First

You see the price in writing before any work starts. Estimates for new systems, heat pumps and re-roof removals are free and on site, usually within the week.

Permits Pulled for You

We pull the permit on every job that needs one and book the inspections, from Cape Coral's EnerGov portal to Lee County DCD and Charlotte County. You never file anything yourself.

SRCC-Certified Equipment

The collectors and systems we install carry SRCC certification: OG-100 for a collector and OG-300 for a complete solar water heating system. Florida Statute 377.705 sets the certification requirement for solar systems sold in the state.

Licensed, Insured and Warrantied

We are licensed and insured, and you can check any Florida contractor on the DBPR license lookup. New installs carry 5 years parts and labor plus 10 years on our roof penetrations, and repairs carry 1 year on the parts we replace.
